North Lake Tahoe Community Health Care Auxiliary

The North Lake Tahoe Community Health Care Auxiliary (NLTCHCA) is a non profit organization made up of volunteers dedicated to giving their time and financial resources to help others. Membership is currently 75 volunteers. The Auxiliary is an integral part of Incline Village Community Hospital. Members of the hospital auxiliary enjoy giving back to the community and invite you to join them.

Primary Mission:

They also participate in the day to day operation of the hospital, helping wherever needed such as patient registration, ER assistance, medical records filing and general record keeping duties.

The NLTCHCA Executive Board meets on the first Monday of every month, and general membership lunch meetings are held every other month on the second Monday. A monthly newsletter, "Hot Flashes!" keeps the membership apprised on past and upcoming activities.

The North Lake Tahoe Community Health Care Auxiliary is very active in fundraising for Incline Village Community Hospital as well as in the local community. In any given month, you'll find auxilians contributing to the community through the gift of funds for special projects, hosting events that bring people together and helping to raise money for many worthy projects. Most of the Auxiliary's fund raising activities take place during the summer months, and have traditionally included a "Classy Garage Sale" in June; a Candlelight Lobster Dinner in July and a Golf Tournament in September.

The Auxiliary also operates a year round Gift Shop in the hospital. Merchandise is constantly being updated and unique gifts can be found there.

The members enjoy preparing and serving a monthly luncheon for the hospital staff which is always enthusiastically anticipated and appreciated. They also decorate the hospital for Christmas, and have helped with the exterior landscaping in the past.

NLTCHCA belongs to the Social Services program of the PCC and provides volunteers to help with the distribution of toys and warm clothing for needy families during the holidays; they also participate in other community events such as the Relay for Life and Xtreme Clean.

Two of our members, Nan Healy and Ginny Moore, were recognized in the Bonanza newspaper's "Locals 2006" for their selfless service to Incline Village. Jean Klein, our Ways and Means Chair, received an Excellence in Volunteerism award from the Nevada Hospital Association for rural Nevada.
