TAHOE FOREST EXTENDED CARE CENTER 5 STAR CMS RATING
Tahoe Forest Health System’s Extended Care Center (Long Term Care Skilled Nursing Facility) is licensed by the State of California and certified by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
CMS rates facilities that are certified to accept Medicare ore Medicaid. CMS awarded a five star rating (out of a 1 to 5 star rating system) to Tahoe Forest Hospital’s Extended Care Facility. Details about this rating can be obtained at the Nursing Home Compare Internet website, www.medicare.gov/NHcompare.
The Five Star Quality Rating System was created to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and completely.
Nursing Home/Extended Care Center ratings are assigned based on ratings given to health inspections, staffing, and quality measures. Some areas are assigned a greater weight than other areas. Ratings are combined to calculate an overall rating.
State licensing information on skilled nursing facilities is available on the State Department of Public Health’s Internet website at www.cdph.ca.gov, under “programs, licensing and certification, health facilities consumer information system.”
