I am proud to represent the community’s medical staff as Chief of Staff for Tahoe Forest Hospital District. I’m continually amazed at the high caliber of employees who strive for excellence at our hospital every day. As a committed team, we recently were awarded the California Council for Excellence Gold level award, which recognizes organizations in California that demonstrate exceptional healthcare performance. And our patients agree; our patient satisfaction rates are high, and continually outperform other hospitals of the same size, according to Press Ganey, the leading voluntary survey company for healthcare in the US. These recognitions help affirm our dedication to delivering high quality healthcare in the communities we serve. Our partnership with UC Davis Health System and its Rural PRIME program allow many of our local physicians to serve as volunteer clinical faculty at UC Davis Medical School. This unique program allows UC Davis Medical students to rotate and work with our local physicians in Truckee/North Lake Tahoe as part of their MD and MPH programs. These are just a few ways that our team of physicians, nurses and staff make Tahoe Forest Hospital an amazing resource for our community. What is Medical Staff Services?
The Medical Staff Services office is responsible for the administrative and medical-legal aspects of the Medical Staff organization. These services include:
- Providing for the development, establishment and enforcement of Medical Staff bylaws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ensuring quality patient care through the credentialing and biennial recredentialing of the medical and allied health professional staff.
- Management of the Anesthesia, OB/Peds, Medicine, Surgery, Medicine and Medical Executive Committee.
- Maintaining physician information database.
