Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation Board

Our Foundation is directed by an all-volunteer Board of Trustees who provide financial oversight and policy direction. We are proud of their passionate dedication and diligent work on behalf of the health of our community.

Christopher P. Ryman

Chris Ryman brings over 30 years of experience in ski industry operations, land planning and ski resort development. Chris has been President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company since 1998. He is also an investor and partner in BCRP, LLC. As President, Chris oversees the operations of the Company's four resorts. He also oversaw the operations of Loon Mountain, the Summit at Snoqualmie, Bear Mountain, and Grand Targhee prior to the Company's divestitures of those properties. Chris was President of the Telluride Ski Resort from 2001 to 2004, pursuant to a management agreement between the resort and Booth Creek. Prior to joining Booth Creek, Chris held the position of Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Vail and Beaver Creek resorts. He was responsible for all aspects of the resort including mountain operations, food and beverage, ski school, rental, mountain planning and construction, USFS relations, and community relations. He played a key role in the acquisitions of the Keystone and Breckenridge resorts. He took the lead in planning and obtaining United States Forest Service approval for Blue Sky Basin, a 50 percent expansion of Vail Mountain . Chris was also involved from the ground floor in the development of Beaver Creek Resort.

Pamela Hurt Hobday

Pamela (Pam) Hurt Hobday is the President of Pam Hurt Associates. She has more than 30 years of experience in management consulting. She has worked with Fortune 500 and 400 companies, Non Profit Organizations, City and County Government and with higher education. She has directed extensive organizational redesigns. She was the Director of the strategic planning redesign for New York City following 9-11. She has worked with numerous county and city governments to assess programs and facilitate strategic planning sessions for elected officials, departments and department heads.

Pam earned a Bachelor of Arts and Masters degree from the University of Oregon. Her Masters was in Curriculum and Instruction. She completed post graduate work in communication and organizational development at the University of Northern Colorado. She served as a Principal in Boulder, Colorado and was chosen as one of three outstanding educators in the State of Colorado. Pam currently serves as a Trustee for the Sierra Nevada College Foundation Board. She is the founder of UC Davis Executive Transplant Board of Directors. She is a Board member on the Lake Tahoe Music Festival Board and Chairman of the Cancer Advisory Council for Tahoe Forest Health System. She was selected as one of the outstanding volunteers in 2007 by the N. Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce. Pam and her husband were honored with the establishment of the Hobday Spirit of Giving award by Tahoe Forest Health System, which will be given annually to individuals/couples who make a difference in Health Care. Pam was selected as the Soroptomist woman of distinction in 2009 and is also a Paul Harris Fellow.

Robert Kennedy

Robert (Bob) Kennedy is a graduate of the University of Southern California and has been a sales and marketing executive with healthcare IT companies for over 20 years. An expert in electronic health records and clinician access, his experiences range from start-up ventures to senior management roles at companies like McKesson, Vignette and Quest Diagnostics.

Bob moved to Incline Village, Nevada full time in 1995 and has been active in the community since. He also serves on the board of the Incline Academic Excellence Foundation and the "IB for IV" initiative bringing the International Baccalaureate program to Incline Schools and is involved in numerous other area organizations, especially those centered around health, athletics and education.

Roger Kahn

Roger moved to Tahoe City with his family in 1960. He received a bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley in 1970. After college, Roger returned to Tahoe to assist in running Porter's Ski and Sport, the Kahn family retail business. Over the course of the next 30 years, Porter's grew from a single store in Tahoe City to an award winning four store chain. The Kahn family sold Porter's in 2002. Since his semi-retirement, Roger manages family real estate interests.

Throughout his career Roger has been involved in community service. He served on the Placer County Economic Development Board, and was a board member and past president of the following organizations: Tahoe City Public Utility District; North Lake Tahoe Resort Association; Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation; Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation and the North Lake Tahoe Hebrew Congregation. Roger currently serves as a board member of the Tahoe Forest Hospital District.

Tom Hobday

Following graduation from UC Berkeley, Tom served in Vietnam in the US Army, achieving the rank of Captain. After his service Tom became a co-owner and Chairman of the Board of Sacramento Valley Insurance, an industrial insurance firm.

In 1995, Tom underwent a successful kidney transplant at the UC Davis Medical Center with his wife Pam as his donor. After his recovery, he retired to join the UC Davis Health System as Assistant Dean of the Medical School . His department initiated the $41,000,000 "M.I.N.D. Institute," now recognized world wide as a leader in the research and treatment of Autism and Autism spectrum disorders, and the bio-medical research partnership between the UC Davis Cancer Center and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory that developed the National Cancer Institute designated "UC Davis Cancer Center."

During his non profit career, Tom served as President or Director of numerous non-profit institutions including a 27 year volunteer career with the American Cancer Society where he eventually served for three years as the National Income Development Chairman, and a member of the Executive Committee of the National Board of Directors. In 1995, he received the American Cancer Society's National Divisional Award. In 1996, was made an "Honorary Life Member" of both the National and California Boards of Directors.

Tom is a member of the Board of the Lake Tahoe Music Festival, and the volunteer President of the Tahoe Institute for Rural Health Research, a non profit corporation affiliated with the Tahoe Forest Hospital District, the UC Davis Health System, and the NSF Center for Biophotonics.

Stuart Yount

Stuart Yount was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in San Marino, CA. He is a Harvard School of Business graduate. He currently resides with his wife, Geraldine, in Incline Village, NV where he is the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Fortifiber Corporation, a building products systems manufacturing company founded in 1939.

He is also CEO and President of the Stanwall Corporation and Founder, Chairman and CEO of the Courage Sans Peur Charitable Foundation. Mr. Yount was the appointee of the President of the United States to the Governing Board of the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency. Besides serving as a board member with over 18 different non-profit organizations and hundreds of associations, clubs and civic organizations, he was named Incline Chamber Humanitarian of the Year in 2005 and Local of the Year in Incline Village in 2007 as well as being named Who's Who in Finance & Industry, Who's Who in the Wes, Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World.

Roger Wittenberg

Roger Wittenberg's pragmatic problem solving, science and unique ability to align with market needs have made Roger a successful entrepreneur. With his background as a scientist, entrepreneur and inventor, his companies have leveraged recycling materials into reusable products. His largest endeavor, The Trex Company, turned billions of pounds of recycled and reclaimed plastic into alternative wood products.

After retiring from Trex, Wittenberg founded International Supply Consortium LLC, which uses innovative building technologies and sustainable materials for residential and commercial real estate projects.

Wittenberg is a board member of Sierra Nevada College and has helped elevate the new campus to Platinum LEED status through the use of Trex and other sustainable products.

Currently, Wittenberg is working to transforming the Tahoe Biltmore Hotel (Crystal Bay) into an example of sustainable resort development. Wittenberg 's vision for the redevelopment, known as Boulder Bay is to create a new model for the resort experience that embraces innovative technologies, provides a sense of place for visitors and locals and focuses on health and wellness.
