Gifts of Cash

Make a gift in your own name to support one of our current giving opportunities by writing a check or authorizing a charge on your credit card.

Memorial and Tribute Donations

Any gift can be made in memory or in honor of a special person or event. These thoughtful gifts can help ensure a healthier future for people today and well into the future. We will send a notification of your generous acknowledgment to the individual or individuals memorialized or honored (gift amount is not disclosed).

Grateful Patient Giving

We regularly hear from patients who have had a positive experience at the hospital. If a physician, nurse, or other hospital employee has made a difference in your experience at Incline Village Community Hospital, your gift may be given in recognition of them.

Matching Gifts

Many employers have matching-gift programs through which your generosity to Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation can be multiplied. As a nonprofit institution, the Foundation is eligible for matching-gift donations from corporations, foundations, and other organizations. Please contact your company’s Human Resources department for instructions on making a matching gift.

Gifts of Assets

The following are the assets that are most commonly used to fund a gift. We recommend that you consult with your CPA, attorney, or financial advisor for suggestions on how best to invest your money and which gift would be most beneficial to your family.

Appreciated Securities

Stock that has increased in value is one of the most popular assets used for charitable giving, once it has been held for a minimum of a year. Donating appreciated securities is a simple gift and can offer you a greater tax benefit than an equivalent in cash. Using appreciated securities entitles you to a charitable deduction for the fair market value of the donated asset, and you avoid paying the capital gains tax you would pay if you sold the appreciated securities.

Real Estate

Using real estate to fund a gift allows you to preserve your cash assets, receive significant tax and income advantages, and make a larger charitable gift than anticipated. Almost any type of real estate with a minimum value of $50,000 may be donated and carries the same advantages as gifts of appreciated securities.

Gifts of Life Insurance

Donating your life insurance could be a wonderful way to fulfill your desire to support our work. By making IVCH Foundation the beneficiary of an existing policy, you make good use of your resources and expand your ability to make a significant gift

Planned Giving

Planned or deferred gifts – such as charitable trusts, life income gifts, gift annuities, real estate and bequests – may provide you with tax advantages or income while still benefitting the hospital. Please consider maximizing the amount of assets that will pass to your heirs and beneficiaries and provide a meaningful legacy to the Foundation. We recommend that you consult with your CPA, attorney, or financial advisor for suggestions on how best to invest your money and which gift would be most beneficial to your family.

For those with a projected commitment of $10,000 or more, we have arranged pro bono legal services to be available to you through a partnership with the law firm Reese Kintz Guinasso, LLC. Donors making a projected gift of $10,000 or more will receive legal services on a pro bono basis for the preparation of a simple amendment or codicil. Donors needing more complex estate services in order to make the bequest will be provided free and discounted legal services in accordance with the following schedule:

  • $10,000-$100,000 3 hours
  • $100,001 - $500,000 4 hours
  • $500,000 + 5 hours

Donors needing additional legal services will be provided those services at a discounted rate of $225 per hour.

If you plan to leave a gift to the Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation please contact Karli Epstein, Executive Director, kepstein@tfhd.com or by calling 775-888-4204.

A charitable bequest is a gift intended to serve a social purpose to benefit mankind, aimed at the community. Charitable bequests also reduce the estate taxes that might be owed on the estate left by a decedent. A bequest can be made through various estate vehicles such as a will, a trust, retirement plan benefits, or insurance policies. By making a bequest to IVCH Foundation, you may secure an estate tax charitable deduction for the value of your gift.

Gifts that Pay an Income

A gift that pays income provides benefits to both giver and receiver. Many individuals use charitable trusts to leave all or a portion of their estate when they die, both for philanthropic purposes and for certain tax benefits. Gift annuities, charitable trusts, and pooled income funds can provide donors or their designated beneficiary with an income stream, significant tax savings and the satisfaction of providing IVCH Foundation with vital long-term resources. These gifts can be funded with cash, appreciated securities, or real estate.

We recognize your compassion.

All donors of $5,000 or more in cumulative contributions will be entitled to have permanent recognition on the main Donor Wall in the Hospital, and are invited to exclusive events. Donors of $100,000 or more have the opportunity to name (for themselves, their families, their businesses, or a person or persons of their choice) an area, room or other functional space within the Hospital. A plaque will be placed adjacent to the entrance to the space named by the donor. Pledges are accepted for naming opportunities and can be made over a three year term. The Foundation honors all requests for anonymity.
