How Can Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Help with Chronic Pain?

MBSR program helps people who are living with chronic pain by cultivating practices that can be used in daily life to work with pain in a new way through the practices of the body scan, sitting awareness, gentle stretching, mindful walking and discussions and explorations into the mind/body stress reactions.

By practicing formal and informal mindfulness participants will gain insight and wisdom into their present moment awareness of how their breath, bodily sensations, thoughts and emotions affect how they experience pain.

The 8-week experiential program compassionately guides participants into new ways of dealing with the stress of chronic pain and gives tools that can be used throughout their entire life.
