How Can Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Help with Chronic Pain?
MBSR program helps people who are living with chronic pain by cultivating practices that can be¬†used in daily life to work with pain in a new way through the practices of the body scan, sitting¬†awareness, gentle stretching, mindful walking and discussions and explorations into the mind/body¬†stress reactions.
By practicing formal and informal mindfulness participants will gain insight and wisdom into their¬†present moment awareness of how their breath, bodily sensations, thoughts and emotions affect¬†how they experience pain.
The 8-week experiential program compassionately guides participants into new ways of dealing with¬†the stress of chronic pain and gives tools that can be used throughout their entire life.
