For decades, Truckee and North Lake Tahoe citizens struggled without a hospital in the region. Then longtime resident and community leader Dick Joseph donated the land 1949 on which Tahoe Forest Hospital was built.. With the Joseph family’s continued support, Tahoe Forest Hospital grew to be a top patient-rated hospital.
