Restorative Yoga
Create space for deep rest, support and repair during this Restorative Yoga workshop. We will discuss some of the benefits and principles of Restorative Yoga, then spend approximately 90 minutes in a nourishing practice. Restorative Yoga uses many props to support the body in long holds which allow deep relaxation of muscles, connective tissue and the mind. Suitable for all bodies, this is an excellent practice for those new to yoga, recovering from injury or illness, or simply looking for a practice that serves as an antidote to our stressful, busy lives.

Authentic Wellness-Positive Mindset vs Toxic Positivity (Virtual)
In a culture where we are inundated with positive thinking and the pursuit of happiness, learning how to realistically experience both life’s positive and negative events, and corresponding emotions, is vital to our mental and physical health. Pretending that bad things don’t happen, deflecting them in discussion with others, or trying to circumvent or suppress negative emotions within ourselves can increase our stress and anxiety, which is counter-productive to the ultimate happiness and health we are likely trying to attain. This seminar, led be Elisa Chapman (MA Sports Psychology and CMPC), will look at what having a “positive mindset” can look like while also experiencing the full spectrum of emotions within ourselves and with those in our communities.
When: Thursday, August 11th, 5:15-6:30pm
Cost: Free!
