What does it actually mean to have self-compassion and self-love and what can we do to foster this within ourselves? Self-compassion seems to be quite the buzz word these days and we are seeing it mentioned in social media posts, self-help books ,and articles. Some acts of self compassion are:

  •  Be kind to yourself when things don’t go as planned
  •  Assess your emotions and use them as a guide for where to refocus 
  • Avoid broad generalizations to describe yourself when things don’t go right 
  • Replace a “bad” thought with a “good “ thought – look for the “good” in situations
  • Connect with others for support
  •  Identify clear boundaries for yourself
