Center for Health Team

Leading our Local Young Athletes
Dr. Amy Vail and Lia Fligor

The Tahoe Forest Center for Health has partnered with Palisades Ski Team and Sugar Bowl Academy to offer wellness programming to our local athletes. This is a great opportunity for our student athletes to learn from our Wellness Team.

Our newest member of the team, Dr Amy Vail, Clinical Psychologist, will work with these athletes on having a healthy mindset. She will be teaching mental skills training for peak performance, what is metacognition, and the importance of resilience and mental stamina.

Our Dietitian Lisa Fligor, will also work with the athletes to learn the “Big” (carbohydrates, fat and protein)and the “Little” (vitamins and minerals) nutrition needs to fuel high performing athletes. She will teach how to put together meals and snacks along with hydration needs while also navigating traveling on the road with on the go nutrition tips.

Dr. Amy Vail is a clinical psychologist and has been in private practice in the Tahoe community since 2006. She works with individual adults and adolescents, couples, and families. Dr. Amy Vail will be working with the athletes, focusing on mental stamina and resilience and how they relate to peak performance.

She also completed the Chef’s Training Program at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts in New York City. Lisa is passionate about real food and maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
