Baby Massage

For parents and infants newborn to crawling, this hands-on workshop promotes bonding and communication, while improving baby’s circulation and digestion, easing tension, increasing relaxation, and reducing fussiness. Led by Linda Mackenzie, RN, Certified Infant Massage Instructor.

Chronic Pain Self-Management 6-Week Free Program

Participants in this worldwide, evidence-based Stanford program are better able to manage their symptoms and have improved quality of life. Learn techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, isolation, and poor sleep. Program is for adults experiencing pain from a variety of causes.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Health Enhancement

FREE program for those with chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and stress that are impacting their health. MBSR helps people who are living with health conditions by cultivating practices that can be used in daily life. Learn the tools to work with your health in a new way!

When: Tuesdays, September 10th - November 5th, 6-8:30pm
Includes Saturday Retreat, October 19th, 9am-3pm

Reclaim Your New Mom Body with Postpartum Training

Learn about Diastasis Recti and whether or not you have it. Revitalize core strength and function with safe and effective exercises. Meet other new moms and bring your baby to class!

Authentic Wellness

2019 is the year to explore the power of you! In this FREE series of workshops you will learn a variety of topics from experts in their fields. Whether its stress, insomnia, nutrition, lack of energy, felling overwhelmed, or general habit change, we have you covered!

Sessions take place every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, 5:15-6:30pm September topics include:

Prenatal Refresher

A fun-filled class for you, your partner, and your young child. Class includes updated information on labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborns as well as a visit to the NEW (since 2017) OB department waiting room with your child. Review breathing patterns and get resource information for parenting with a growing family.

When: Sunday September 15th, 10am-12pm

Building Better Caregivers

An evidence-based program developed by Stanford School of Medicine. Join us for 6 weekly classes and learn:

  • Skills to support stress reduction for caregiver and the care partner
  • Self-care methods to improve caregiver's health
  • How to handle difficult emotions
  • Managing troublesome care partner behaviors
  • Planning for the future
  • Information about resources
  • Ways to improve communication skills

This program is supported by the Wellness Neighborhood and offered at no cost. Care partner support will be provided during this class to allow caregivers time to attend class.

When: Mondays, 5-7:30pm

Breast Milk Drive

You can help another parent and their baby by donating breast milk. When babies are born prematurely, donated breast milk can provide important protection and prevent potentially fatal conditions. Please join us for a Breast Milk Drive and Celebration of Breastfeeding!

When: Friday September 20th, 10am-12pm

Parkinson's Disease Support Group

A community support group in where members can share their experiences, knowledge, and coping strategies. Please come share input about what you want from this group. We can have speakers, watch and discuss webinars, and include outside activities to increase the cohesion and bonding among members. This free support group is held at the Tahoe Forest Center for Health and is facilitated by: Ellen and John Roumasset, Trained Parkinson's Disease Associated Support Group Facilitators.

When: Every third Friday of the month, 1-2pm

Tahoe Forest Cooking Club

Get out of your cooking rut and come get INSPIRED at our monthly Health Supportive Cooking Club! Each month, our Registered Dietitian Lisa Fligor, MS, RDN, LD will provide a fun and interactive cooking demo. You get to taste test and take home easy, healthy, and delicious recipes!

September Topic: Brain Health - Learn about foods and nutrients that sharpen our mind and improve the aging process.

Appreciative Living (AL) is a philosophy designed to create more joy in life by asking questions about and visualizing what is right, what is working and what we want most out of life.
