Tahoe Forest Hospital District views visitors, families and friends as an integral part of a patient's recovery process. For patient and resident comfort, and safety we ask that you follow these guidelines:
- Please check with the nurses' station before entering a patient or resident room.
- Limit visitors to two at one time. In some situations, the patient's or resident’s nurse may allow more visitors.
- Until further notice, only healthy adults and healthy persons over the age of 12 may visit patients in the following nursing units: TFH: Medical Surgical, Intensive Care, Ambulatory Surgery, and Emergency Room. In Labor and Delivery Obstetrics (OB), healthy siblings of the newborn under the age of 12 may visit. IVCH: Lakeview, Emergency Room If you are sick or if you show signs of illness, please do not visit the hospital. Phone calls are a great way to stay in touch with a patient if you are sick. Every patient has access to a phone. Patients when able and with approval of their nurse or physician may visit their less than 12 year old visitors in non-clinical public areas such as the solarium, chapel, café, lobby, surgery and emergency room waiting areas.
- Please be quiet in the hospital. Please speak quietly. Turn your cell phone to silent or vibrate while visiting the hospital.
- Smoking is prohibited inside the hospital and campus facilities. Smoking is restricted to outside designated areas only and is not permitted on walkways or any non-designated areas on the hospital campus.
- Please respect privacy, if the person you are visiting is in a shared room with another patient.
- Visiting hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of individual patients.
- After hours visitation requires special permission and a visitors pass must be worn at all times.
General Hospital Visiting Hours: 8:00am to 9:00pm
INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (ICU)
Because patients in the ICU are very ill, we ask that you not bring flowers, plants or food to patients on this unit. ICU visitors are limited in the amount of time they are able to visit, based on the patient’s condition.

LABOR AND DELIVERY-OBSTETRICS ( OB )
Approved visitors may visit anytime. Healthy children of the mother are
encouraged to visit but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Pine Street Café
The café is located on the lower level of the Hospital in the main lobby.
Hours: 7 days a week, 7:00am to 7:00pm

For your convenience there is a vending machine located in the downstairs waiting room in the corridor between the main lobby and the emergency room.
Parking
Please make sure you are parked in a designated parking area. Parking is available at all entrances to the hospital. Parking on the streets is permitted in most areas around the Hospital, but not on snow days.
The Gift Tree
Tahoe Forest Hospital Auxiliary operates the Gift Tree. They stock many gift items as well as jewelry, cards, magazines and candy. The gift shop is located on the lower level of the Hospital next to the Pine Street Cafe. Hours: Monday through Friday 10:00am to 4:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
Safe Haven Baby Drop-Off Locations
Our Emergency Room and our Obstetrics Departments (OB) are both Safe Haven Baby Drop-off locations. They allow mothers to surrender their newborns without any questions asked. Babies are given medical attention and confidentiality for the mother is assured.
