A Note from Karli Epstein, Executive Director

Karli Epstein, Executive Director Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation

Greetings Truckee Tahoe Community,

I hope that this message finds you all healthy and well. We know that the last several months has been a challenging time for our entire community. During this evolving crisis, Tahoe Forest Health System remains open and ready to serve our entire community. Philanthropy played a pivotal role in ensuring that our hospital and front line workers had the resources needed to respond to COVID-19. We are deeply grateful for the incredible support we received from donors in the community, and 100% of every gift given to the COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund went directly to support our lifesaving efforts. (Keep reading for more updates on the COVID-19 Fund!)

While we sure missed seeing many of you for our annual Best of Tahoe Chefs event, we have faith that with a little creativity and determination we will be able to provide a unique experience in 2021. One thing we know for certain, COVID-19 does not stop the vital need for oncology support services for our cancer patients and their caregivers. As a community, we will get through this together.

One last thing! Starting in September, I will be out of the office on maternity leave and will be returning around the holidays. If you have any questions, please either call (530) 582-6277 or email our Foundation office at or foundation@tfhd.com. One of our Foundation team members will be happy to assist you with your questions while I am out!

Your ongoing support continues to have a powerful impact on the remarkable quality of our local health care - we are honored to offer such an important service to the Truckee Tahoe community. With your partnership, the Tahoe Forest Health System can provide extraordinary care to residents, seasonal homeowners, and High Sierra visitors.

With so much gratitude,

Karli Epstein
