Greg Tarter was known for his kindness, steady presence, and deep compassion for his patients and colleagues. During his 28-year career at Tahoe Forest, Greg served in the ICU, caring for countless members of our community and offering comfort, skill, and compassion to patients and families during some of their most vulnerable moments.
In memory of longtime Tahoe Forest nurse Greg Tarter, this fund, in partnership with the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation, provides $5,000 annual workforce scholarships for individuals pursuing nursing as a career. The scholarships are intended to support those entering the nursing workforce, including individuals returning to school or pursuing nursing as a second career—a path that was especially meaningful to Greg, as nursing was his second degree and his true passion.
