A Letter from Karli Bunnell, Executive Director

As summer arrives in our scenic Incline Village community, with sunshine on the lake and trails bustling with outdoor activity, we are reminded just how special this place truly is. Amid the season’s energy and beauty, your generosity continues to make a lasting impact — helping ensure that exceptional, local healthcare remains accessible for everyone who both visits and calls Incline Village home. Thanks to your support, Incline Village Community Hospital is here to meet the needs of our growing and vibrant community, every day of the year.

In this edition, we’re excited to share updates on this year’s Summer Lakefront Reception and the continued success of the Oral Health Program. We highlight an outstanding Health System employee, thank our donors who attended this year’s reception at Bowl Incline, and invite you to attend the Auxiliary’s beloved Annual Lobster Feed. Lastly, we present our 2024 Stewardship Report, celebrating the meaningful progress we’ve made—together with you, our generous donors.

Wishing you a wonderful summer at the lake and thank you for your continued support. Your generosity plays a vital role in advancing healthcare for our community, and we look forward to the meaningful work we’ll accomplish together as we begin the Surgery Enhancement Project.

In gratitude,

Karli Bunnell
Executive Director

Oral Health Improvement Initiative

As a part of the Incline Village Oral Health Improvement for Children initiative, the IVCH Foundation has utilized $120,000 in Oral Health Grant funding to provide on-going dental services to our community’s students at school each year. This April, in collaboration with dental students from Truckee Meadows Community College, 124 students enrolled in the initiative at Incline Elementary School and 19 students at Incline Middle School received a free dental screening and fluoride varnish. Additionally in May, 8 students receive dental sealants at Incline Elementary School utilizing grant funded portable dental equipment. The sealants were applied by provider team Mark Rosenberg, DDS, MPH and Julie Stage-Rosenberg, RDH, MPH. We are excited to continue the impactful work of the Oral Health Improvement program, ensuring that our community’s children receive the essential dental care they need for years to come.

Ged Laplante

Incline Village Community Hospital Staff Spotlight

Ged Laplante

Our staff at Incline Village Community Hospital love getting to know their patients but here’s an opportunity to get to know the staff! Meet Ged Laplante, our Pharmacy Operations Supervisor, who brings nearly four decades of experience to Tahoe Forest Health System — 30 of those years as a licensed pharmacist. Ged’s passion for pharmacy is matched by his love for exploration. Whether it’s meeting new people or discovering new places, he believes life is all about meaningful experiences and memorable stories.

His director, Jim Franckum, said,

“What can I say about Ged? I’ll start by saying that he is frankly the best pharmacist I have ever had the pleasure of working with.

He is talented, calm, wise, and hardworking, and always a pleasure to work with. He has stepped up more times, and in more ways, than I can count to help, assist, and provide direction, and generally support to all those around him.

He has gained the trust and respect from pharmacy, nursing, patients, and physicians alike. I see him as an asset of unparalleled value, and consider myself lucky to know him and work with him.”

Outside of work, Ged is a proud husband and father. He credits his wife’s dedication and kindness as the heart of their family, and beams with pride over their son serving in the National Guard and their daughter who has become a nurse. He’s also a pizza enthusiast — with the exception of pineapple, which he believes definitely doesn’t belong on a pizza! One day, Ged hopes to check Italy and Malta off his travel bucket list.

We are so lucky to have Ged on our team both at Incline Village Community Hospital and Tahoe Forest Hospital and we hope you enjoyed getting to know him more!

Donor and Physician Reception

Recently, the IVCH Foundation welcomed our generous donors and dedicated IVCH physicians to Bowl Incline for a special evening of celebration and connection. It was a wonderful opportunity to share the Health System’s exciting plans to expand access to exceptional healthcare on Lake Tahoe’s North Shore and to honor the physicians who work tirelessly to care for our community.

As we celebrate the launch of the Surgery Enhancement Project, we eagerly look forward to the next era for Incline Village Community Hospital. This exciting project will strengthen our ability to deliver advanced, life-saving care close to home.

We are deeply grateful to our donors for their continued partnership. Every gift is fully directed to the programs and services our donors care about most, helping us shape the future of healthcare in our community. Thank you for trusting us to steward your impact and advance our mission of excellence.

What Our Community is Saying

We are always proud to share the positive recognition we receive for the way we care for our Emergency Room, Lakeside Family Medicine, and Incline Health Center patients:

“I feel very fortunate to have Dr. Clyde as my primary doctor. Dr. Clyde really connects he listens and provides safe, clear, balanced advice. Dr. Clyde is the ‘old fashioned’ doctor that takes time with and cares for his patients.”

“You guys aced this one. A+ top to bottom. From helpful appointment-maker, to great reception, to wonderful treatment by nursing staff and provider. I was sick and grumpy and have zero complaints. Thank you!”

“Eric Martineau at IVCH PT is terrific. He has helped me immensely.”
