Tahoe Forest Health System Welcomes First Baby of the New Year
Tahoe Forest Hospital is pleased to announce that the first baby of the New Year was born Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at 9:44 p.m. The baby was delivered by Dr. Shawni Coll.
New baby boy George McCadden weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces at birth, and measured 22 inches. The proud parents, Sara McBee and Andrew McCadden, live in Truckee.
Because the baby’s due date was January 1, Sara’s mom had wondered if they might have the first baby of the New Year. “When I found out he was going to be the first,” said Sara, she thought, “My mom’s going to be happy.”
The new family was pleased with the care they received at Tahoe Forest’s new OB unit, the Joseph Family Center for Women Newborn Care, where they enjoyed their quiet, private room with its own Jacuzzi. The nurses were helpful and informative, and take care of you, and take care of baby, according to Sara. “I wish we could take the nurses with us,” she said.
The new family was presented with a gift basket, in honor of the first baby of the New Year, provided by The Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation, with special baby items from the Gift Tree gift shop, located in the main lobby at Tahoe Forest Hospital.
