Socorro (Coco) Zarate

As a Tahoe Forest Health System Community Advocate and Promotor, Coco serves as a liaison between community members, Tahoe Forest Hospital and local agencies. Coco has six years of experience working within community service organizations who support individuals to increase their stability and provide a safe environment for themselves and their children. Additionally, Coco has a wealth of knowledge regarding multilingual and culturally specific resources within the North Lake Tahoe/Truckee Community. He provided direct support in advocacy, resource connection, legal advocacy, medical referrals, safety planning, support group facilitation, case management and education through parenting classes. Being raised in the Truckee-Tahoe region, Coco has been part of this community for the past twenty-two years and understands the changes and challenges of our local community; therefore, he deeply understands the needs of our community members.
