The Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation is deeply grateful to our donors, whose generosity makes exceptional healthcare possible in our mountain community. Your support ensures that patients have access to high-quality, innovative care close to home.
This year, we celebrate remarkable milestones. Fundraising for the Surgery Suite Enhancement Project is now complete thanks to a $1 million gift from the Offerdahl Family Foundation and the transformative $7.8 million grant from the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation—the largest gift in our health system’s history. This $10 million project will renovate the hospital’s last remaining original space, built in the 1980s, and represents the largest fundraising effort to date. We are currently designing and planning with completion anticipated in summer 2027. With your incredibly generous contributions, these upgrades will expand services, enhance patient care, and help attract new physicians to meet the needs of our growing community.
This project aligns with Tahoe Forest Health System’s True North strategic priorities, which guide improvements in patient experience, access, services, and innovation — ensuring your philanthropic support has the greatest impact.

Who is Incline Village Community Hospital?
Built by the community, for the community.
The Incline Village Community Hospital began as a true community project when the need was recognized for a hospital on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. Because of the generosity and determination of community members, the Hospital opened its doors in September of 1981. In 1996, the Hospital became a proud part of Tahoe Forest Health System. Tahoe Forest is one of the top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the country, has achieved notable quality measures that demonstrate the highest patient safety standards, and consistently exceeds patient satisfaction ratings.

The Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation is committed to supporting local access to renowned healthcare services. We collaborate with our Hospital to provide state-of-the-art equipment critical to operations. The Foundation is the charitable arm of the organization, dedicated to channeling contributions from community members into investments that support essential healthcare for all residents.

With help from our generous community of donors, the Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation was able to elevate patient care by purchasing and/or committing to funding the following life-saving equipment and services:
Surgery suite enhancement project
Fundraising for the Surgery Suite Enhancement Project at Incline Village Community Hospital is now complete thanks to a $1 million gift from the Offerdahl Family Foundation and the transformative $7.8 million grant from the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation—the largest gift in our health system’s history. This project will focus on critical upgrades, including the addition of a new procedure room and enhancements to the first floor of the hospital.
Key upgrades include:
- A new air handler for improved ventilation
- Enhanced data closet for increased technology support
- Full asbestos abatement and flooring replacement
- New post-op recovery space for patient comfort
- Updated registration window for an improved patient experience
- Relocation of the staff lounge
Grant funding is made possible by the generosity of the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, a private charitable foundation based in Incline Village, Nevada.
About The Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation
The Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation (DCDF), founded in 2016, continues the Duffield family’s commitment to making bold impacts. DCDF focuses on support for Veterans with disabilities, companion animal well-being, and organizations in which our founders have personal connections.
The Foundation’s capstone program is Liberty Dogs™, a new Service Dog campus based in Reno, Nevada. Liberty Dogs will train Service Dogs to support Veterans with disabilities. Veterans will spend two weeks, on site, training with their Liberty Service Dogs™ and leave with their new companions and the ability to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.
Based in Incline Village, Nevada, DCDF is the Duffield family’s vision for funding transformational services and programs.

There are a variety of ways to support the Incline Village Community Hospital. Every gift benefits the welfare of those who live in our region. Each donation goes directly toward the projects and programs that YOU care about. Area of Greatest Need
When you designate your gift to our Area of Greatest Need, the Foundation Board of Directors will direct your contribution toward the Hospital’s most significant need. In our undertaking to offer the best patient care experience possible, having access to comprehensive services and programs — as well as state-of-the-art technology and diagnostic equipment — is a vital necessity.
Emergency Department
The Incline Village Community Hospital’s Emergency Room provides full-service emergency care. Gifts to the Emergency Department directly support equipment enhancement and supply needs of the department. Access to a nearby Emergency Room provides lifesaving comprehensive patient care.
Giving Today
Gifts of cash
Gifts of cash, by check or credit card, are the most direct ways to give to the IVCH Foundation. As a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, your gift is tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Gifts of securities
Donating appreciated securities is a simple gift that can offer you a greater tax benefit than an equivalent in cash. Using appreciated securities entitles you to a charitable deduction for the fair market value of the donated asset. You also avoid paying the capital gains tax you might owe if you sold the appreciated securities.
Gifts from a retirement plan
If you are required to take a minimum distribution from a retirement account, a Qualified Charitable Distribution can be made directly from an IRA to the IVCH Foundation. This will allow you to lower your gross income, and possibly reduce your income or estate tax by transferring the additional taxable income to the IVCH Foundation.
Gifts from a donor advised fund
A Donor Advised Fund, or DAF, is like a charitable investment account. You are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction when you contribute assets from a DAF. You can recommend grants to the IVCH Foundation from this type of tax-free investment fund.
Gifts from a matching gift program
Double your donation to the IVCH Foundation. Many employers sponsor matching gift programs that will match any charitable contribution made by their employees with a ratio that is often 1:1. By taking advantage of such a program, you can effectively double the impact of your gift.
Giving Tomorrow
If you are interested in supporting the long-term vision of the Incline Village Community Hospital, you can make a plan to give to the IVCH Foundation in the future. This enables us to continue supporting the life-saving services we offer to all of our community members. There are numerous estate planning techniques that can maximize your testamentary charitable giving while mitigating tax exposure. Here are some examples:
Will or trust bequests
These gifts are made by including a provision in your will or trust document. The IVCH Foundation receives your gift after your passing, at which time your estate can take the income and estate tax deductions. This can even include donations of real property.
Charitable lead trust
A charitable lead trust would pay the IVCH Foundation for a certain number of years with the trust principal returning to you, your family members, or other heirs. It can be an excellent estate planning vehicle if you own assets that will substantially appreciate in value. It can help you keep an asset in the family, while also enjoying some tax benefits.
Charitable remainder trust
A charitable remainder trust is the mirror image of the charitable lead trust. Trust income is payable to you, your family members, or other heirs for a period of years. The principal would then be directed to the IVCH Foundation. A charitable remainder trust can be beneficial because it provides you with a stream of current income.

Leaving a legacy is one of the most impactful ways to shape the future of healthcare in our community. Through our IVCHF Legacy Partner in Health program, you have the opportunity to ensure that future generations continue to have access to exceptional medical care by including Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation in your estate plans. Whether through a bequest, charitable trust, or other planned giving options, your generosity will provide vital resources to sustain and enhance patient care, medical advancements, and innovative programs for years to come. Your legacy can make a difference in shaping the future of healthcare.
Donors who inform the Foundation of their intention to include the IVCH Foundation in their will or trust will be honored as an IVCHF Legacy Partner in Health member. We are grateful to recognize (based on donor preference) supporters for their intention to give while they are still living.
In partnership with Thompson & Associates, the IVCH Foundation is pleased to offer complimentary estate planning education for our donors. Thompson & Associates provides expert guidance on estate planning, charitable giving, tax-efficient strategies, and legacy planning, ensuring your wishes are fulfilled while benefiting the causes that matter most to you. A consultant will be available on-site monthly to conduct confidential meetings. If you are interested in utilizing these resources, please reach out to the Foundation.
I was hesitant to use Vince because my wife and I already had a Living Trust that detailed our wishes. We met with Vince and he took the time to read the 80+ page document and made a number of very useful suggestions that will save our heirs substantial money. As it turns out working with Vince was one of the best financial moves we could have made.
