The Hospital began as a true community project when the need was recognized for a hospital on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. Because of the generosity and determination of community members, the Hospital opened its doors in September of 1981. In 1996, the Hospital became a proud part of Tahoe Forest Health System.
Tahoe Forest is one of the top 100 critical access hospitals in the country, has achieved notable quality measures that demonstrate the highest patient safety standards, and consistently exceeds patient satisfaction ratings.
IVCH Foundation history
The Foundation’s history begins with Jack Cooke, whose great passion for his community led him in 2004 to gather fellow community leaders who would form the Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation. Jack was a visionary who knew how to inspire people to work together for the good of the community. Jack’s vision for the Foundation was to build on the expert level of care provided by Incline Village Community Hospital.
Significant dates
- 1979 – Lakeside Hospital Groundbreaking
- 1981 – Lakeside Community Hospital opens, providing 24-hour emergency care
- 1996 – Lakeside Hospital is acquired by Tahoe Forest Health System and is renamed Incline Village Community Hospital
- 2004 – Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation is founded
- 2008 – Incline Village Community Hospital Emergency Department is renovated (Phase I)
- 2010 – Incline Village Community Hospital Emergency Department physical space is enhanced (Phase II)
- 2012 – Incline Village Community Health Clinic opens
- 2016 – Incline Community Health Clinic is renovated and renamed Incline Health Center. More space is added to expand the primary and specialty care physician services of Incline Medical Group.
- 2017 – Incline Village Community Hospital Laboratory and Emergency Room 5 renovation begins
- 2020 – Incline Village Community Hospital received COVID-19 Response funding from The Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation and the Love Foundation
- 2021 – Incline Village Community Hospital Sterile Processing Department completion
- 2022 – Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation received grant funding from The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust for the Diagnostic Imaging Enhancement Project
- 2023 – Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation received grant funding from The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust for the addition of Mammography to the Diagnostic Imaging Enhancement Project
- 2024 – Incline Village Community Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging Enhancement Project completion adding 128 Slice CT, Fixed X-Ray, Point of Care Ultrasound, and 3D Mammography
- 2025 – Incline Village Community Hospital Foundation received grant funding from the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation for the Surgery Enhancement Project.
- 2026 – Incline Village Community Hospital Surgery Enhancement Project construction begins
