I came to see Dr. Dodd as a second opinion re: arthroscopic surgery or knee replacement surgery. I had torn or partially torn the meniscus in my right knee in January this year, had x-rays then, and 2 months of physical therapy. When I returned to Tahoe in April, another surgeon authorized an MRI and recommended surgery...somehow leaning towards knee replacement. I felt uneasy about the diagnosis and recommendation. I went to the gym every day, building up my leg muscles. When I saw Dr. Dodd, he told me the MRI on my knee wasn't that bad for someone my age (82), that since I was not in pain and there was no "bone on bone," he saw no reason for surgery. I cherish his integrity.
