Dr. Dean “Trey” Kellogg III, a triple board-certified physician in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine, has joined the Pulmonary and Critical Care team at Tahoe Forest Health System in August 2025. He completed his pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship, as well as his residency in internal medicine, at the University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio, where he also earned his medical degree.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Kellogg has led and contributed to numerous clinical trials and scholarly publications in pulmonary medicine. His work has been recognized in national and international forums, and he has served as a peer reviewer for leading medical journals.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Kellogg is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys running, hiking, fishing, woodworking, and coaching youth sports, making him a natural fit for the Truckee-Tahoe lifestyle.

This is the third time I've seen Dr Kellogg; he listens well and communicates very clearly. He is very knowledgeable about possible remedies for asthma. I really appreciate his skill and kindness.

Dr. Kellogg look at all my tests and records. He discussed my cough that has troubled me for years and helped me see the causes and remedies. My CPAP was read and interpreted for me. I have a much improved understanding of how it helps and what my goals for use should be. He fitted me with a new and better mask. I am confident about its use. I have renewed optimism that my health has been studied and decisions were made for improvement.

Dr. Kellogg was very helpful and took the time to explain my test results in a way that was easy to understand. He clearly laid out a variety of options and discussed them with me. He had a great demeanor and worked collaboratively by asking questions and offering advice, rather than being dismissive, which I've experienced with other providers. I really appreciated that approach.
