Tahoe Forest Health System Embraces Technology to Enhance Patient Care Experience

Technology is going to be a really important strategy for Tahoe Forest Health System now and well into the future. Obviously we know that individuals, our patients, are really engaging with the care. The first step of care is usually through either a phone call, or in the future being able to do much of what's needed to schedule visits through a mobile phone. We've introduced just this year two that we're very proud of. One is through the use of MyChart where you can actually schedule well-child visits for Pediatric Care - it's called a self-scheduling module. We've also brought on a totally new solution for Urgent Care called On My Way. On My Way allows for you to actually let us know you're coming. Instead of waiting when you actually arrive at Urgent Care or the doctor's visit, that we know you're coming well ahead of time so it makes it for a more efficient and just a better patient experience when you actually come here to Tahoe Forest for care.

Louis Ward, Interim CEO of Tahoe Forest Health System, highlights how technological innovations are streamlining healthcare access and allowing patients to take control of their healthcare journey. The MyChart self-scheduling tool allows patients to book appointments like well-child visits via mobile devices, while the “On My Way” solution enables patients to “save a spot” in line for urgent care and receive notifications before arrival, thus reducing wait times. These tools aim to improve convenience and efficiency, ensuring a smoother care experience. Tahoe Forest Health System is leveraging these advancements to shape the future of primary care and foster better patient experience.
