Tahoe Forest Health System Recognized on 2025 SUD Care Honor Roll

Tahoe Forest Health System has been named to the 2025 Healthcare Organizations Leading Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Care Honor Roll, a statewide recognition program led by Cal Hospital Compare in partnership with the California Health and Human Services Agency (CalHHS).
This year, Tahoe Forest Health System earned two distinctions:
- Sustained Improvement – for demonstrating superior performance in SUD care for two consecutive years.
- Most Improved – for significant progress in advancing access to treatment, harm reduction, and stigma-free care.
Out of 133 California hospitals that voluntarily reported their progress in SUD care, Tahoe Forest Health System was among the 91 hospitals to be recognized for excellence in one or more performance categories.
“Being recognized on the SUD Honor Roll is an important reminder that addressing substance use disorder is not just about treatment it’s about strengthening the health and resilience of our entire community,” said Anna Roth, President & CEO of Tahoe Forest Health System. “This achievement reflects the extraordinary collaboration of our staff, providers, and community partners.”
The annual Honor Roll highlights hospitals’ progress across several key areas, including safe opioid prescribing, early identification of substance use disorders, integration of harm reduction services, stigma reduction strategies, and family engagement in treatment. Participation signals a hospital’s commitment to leading-edge practices that improve patient outcomes and save lives.
