Dr. Michael Jernick joined Tahoe Forest Health System in August 2021. He specializes in sports medicine, total joint replacement of the hip, knee and shoulder, and minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures of the ankle, knee and shoulder.

Dr. Jernick attended medical school at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of California San Francisco – Fresno, and his sports medicine, shoulder, and elbow surgery fellowship at the Congress Medical Associates, Huntington Memorial Hospital. Dr. Jernick is Board Certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr Jernick did my shoulder surgery last March and he's helping me with some arthritic knees now. I like his approach and have a lot of trust in what he says.

Dr Jernick is one of the most capable and compassionate doctors I have worked with. I really appreciate being able to see him on such short notice for my injury because we were leaving on an overseas trip in 2 days. He was very clear and provided some great options for treatment and follow up. I would highly recommend him to anyone!
