Dr. Michael Jernick joined Tahoe Forest Health System in August 2021. He specializes in sports medicine, total joint replacement of the hip, knee and shoulder, and minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures of the ankle, knee and shoulder.

Dr. Jernick attended medical school at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of California San Francisco – Fresno, and his sports medicine, shoulder, and elbow surgery fellowship at the Congress Medical Associates, Huntington Memorial Hospital. Doctor Jernick is very skilled at what he does. I was a little shocked to find that this was my last visit with him. What a journey we've had together. I was excited to hear that I healed so well.

I am new to the area. This was an establishing visit so I could have an ortho here. No questions about my activity level, which activities I want to continue, what actions/movements give me pain. The appt felt very abrupt. Looked at my X-rays, showed me the images and gave me some options. I know the problem is with the soft tissues so I opted for more imaging (MRIs). I will have a follow up after the MRI and hopefully the appointment will be more thorough. Fairly disappointing first interaction.
