Dr. Michael Jernick joined Tahoe Forest Health System in August 2021. He specializes in sports medicine, total joint replacement of the hip, knee and shoulder, and minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures of the ankle, knee and shoulder.

I am new to the area. This was an establishing visit so I could have an ortho here. No questions about my activity level, which activities I want to continue, what actions/movements give me pain. The appt felt very abrupt. Looked at my X-rays, showed me the images and gave me some options. I know the problem is with the soft tissues so I opted for more imaging (MRIs). I will have a follow up after the MRI and hopefully the appointment will be more thorough. Fairly disappointing first interaction.

I was concerned 4 days after the surgery but Dr. Jernick looked at photos of my wounds and put me at ease, told me what to do. I always felt cared for.

ER doctor told me I was going to need surgery, Dr. Jernick was able to cast the bone correctly and avoid any surgical intervention
