Dr. Dean “Trey” Kellogg III, a triple board-certified physician in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine, has joined the Pulmonary and Critical Care team at Tahoe Forest Health System in August 2025. He completed his pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship, as well as his residency in internal medicine, at the University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio, where he also earned his medical degree.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Kellogg has led and contributed to numerous clinical trials and scholarly publications in pulmonary medicine. His work has been recognized in national and international forums, and he has served as a peer reviewer for leading medical journals.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Kellogg is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys running, hiking, fishing, woodworking, and coaching youth sports, making him a natural fit for the Truckee-Tahoe lifestyle.

Kellogg warm personal approach and interaction with me discussing all the pros and cons and giving me Vital information about my condition, options, and was easy to understand the information about my condition and made me feel confident in the decision to continue with a sleep apnea test, which would provide further detailed information on any future treatments.

Above excellent. Explained everything so that I fully understood. Took the time to hear my concerns and fully understood and respected my opinions without judgment. It is critical to me that a physician really hears what I say and gives me feedback based on my concerns. I feel 100 percent comfortable with this physician and his judgment. Dr. Kellogg look at all my tests and records. He discussed my cough that has troubled me for years and helped me see the causes and remedies. My CPAP was read and interpreted for me. I have a much improved understanding of how it helps and what my goals for use should be. He fitted me with a new and better mask. I am confident about its use. I have renewed optimism that my health has been studied and decisions were made for improvement.
