Hello, my name is Dr. Ahrin Koppel. I'm a Medical Oncologist and Hematologist. I'm also the Medical Director at the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center. We've been serving patients in our local community and throughout the region since 2006.

I care for patients with a wide range of cancers and blood disorders. I provide treatments such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies.

We also provide services that help the cancer journey become more tolerable such as nurse navigation, palliative care, acupuncture, massage, and psychology services. I care for adult patients with cancers at all stages.

From those that are recently diagnosed to people undergoing treatment and also people in long-term follow-up. I did my oncology training in Southern California, UCLA before moving to Truckee in 2010.

Since then, I've had the privilege to care for people throughout our community and throughout the region. I believe in taking time to listen to patients, helping them understand their diagnosis, and working together to come up with a treatment plan that's both medically appropriate and aligned with their goals of care.

At your first visit, we'll have a thorough and thoughtful discussion. We'll go through your diagnosis.

We'll review your medical records. And we'll come up with a plan so you know exactly what's next.

If you or a loved one are facing a cancer diagnosis, we are here to provide the highest quality care close to home. For some patients, cancer can become a chronic condition.

For most people, it's one of the most challenging things they'll ever face. We are here to help.
