Hi, I’m Dr. Sarah Holmes, and I work at the Tahoe Forest Health System in Primary Care. In primary care, we treat all ages, so I will treat newborns to geriatrics, and we treat things such as normal viruses and common colds to chronic illnesses. I spent several years here in the Truckee area as a ski and a mountain bike patroller, and medicine was something that I always knew I wanted to do.
So I finally made the decision to go back to med school, and I really enjoy one-on-one time with my patients and wanted to kind of see that continuity of care. I ended up getting my medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and then getting my primary care family medicine residency at Brown University in Rhode Island. I’m excited to be back in the community and have all of these outdoor opportunities right at my back door.
I love downhill mountain biking, I love skiing and snowboarding, and I just love being outside with my pets and my husband, and just kind of being around all the beauty that’s here. I think the most important thing to me as your primary care provider is your autonomy. So I want to be your advocate, I want to be the person who gets to know you best and knows what your wants are and your needs are, and then kind of try to match that.
But at the end of the day, I’m going to give you all the information that I have in my toolbox, and you are going to make the decision that’s best for you. If you’re looking for a primary care provider, schedule online or give our office a call. Again, I’m Dr. Sarah Holmes, and I look forward to meeting you.
