Your health is our number one priority.

Tahoe Forest Health System is monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak closely, and we are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our community and staff members.

COVID-19 Vaccine

The importance of vaccinations in stopping the spread of COVID-19 cannot be underestimated. Vaccination is a powerful tool for halting this deadly disease.

The national COVID-19 vaccine roll-out is in the early stages, and supplies of the vaccine are very limited. As production and availability of the vaccine increases, we anticipate being able to offer the vaccines more broadly under appropriate public health guidelines.

Vaccine Availability

Please do not call your physician’s office, as they cannot schedule a vaccine for you. The best place to find information about the availability and distribution of the vaccine in our community is from county public health offices:

Nevada County:

Placer County:

  • Placer County text alerts! Text placervaccine to 898211 placervaccine to 898211 to receive vaccine updates from Placer County.

Washoe County:

Vaccine Safety & Pregnancy
While getting the COVID vaccine as soon as possible is the safest choice for most people, trials testing the vaccine in pregnant and breastfeeding women have not been completed. We have prepared an informational brochure to help you make an informed choice about whether to get the COVID vaccine while you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant. If you have additional questions, please schedule an appointment to discuss your concerns with a healthcare provider by calling (530) 582-6205. Download Pregnancy and COVID-19 informational brochure.

Hospital Access & Visitor Policy

Effective August 11, 2021 Tahoe Forest Hospital is updating our current visitor policy. The COVID-19 pandemic remains a significant challenge in California. As a result, the State Public Health Office has issued a mandate that hospital visitors are required to show proof of vaccination; unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated individuals must show proof of negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours before each visit. Learn more about Tahoe Forest Health System visitor policies or read the full CA State Public Health Office Order.

Our hospitals, clinics, and outpatient services are SAFE and OPEN. Please do not delay seeking treatment for urgent medical concerns. We are screening all patients on arrival and requiring masks and social distancing inside our facilities.
