COVID-19 Testing

If you are symptomatic and are experiencing any COVID symptoms, please call the Tahoe Forest Health System COVID-19 Hotline at (530) 582-3450, from 9am - 4pm, Monday through Friday. DO NOT call the Emergency Department at Tahoe Forest Hospital, as staff cannot provide medical advice over the phone.

On the weekends, if you are COVID-positive and looking for COVID-related medicines or medical advice, consider contacting someone on your healthcare team or going to an urgent care clinic. The Emergency Department at Tahoe Forest is open 7 days a week.

If you are asymptomatic (not experiencing symptoms of illness), you must use the free COVID testing site available by an independent company (not Tahoe Forest Health System) at the Old Gateway Center at 10990 Donner Pass Road. Pre-registration is required and can be done at or by calling 888-634-1123.

Effective August 11, 2021 Tahoe Forest Hospital is updating our current visitor policy. The COVID-19 pandemic remains a significant challenge in California. As a result, the State Public Health Office has issued a mandate that hospital visitors are required to show proof of vaccination; unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated individuals must show proof of negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours before each visit. Learn more about Tahoe Forest Health System visitor policies or read the full CA State Public Health Office Order.
