Dr. Kevin Johansen joined the Primary Care team at Tahoe Forest Health System in February 2025. Dr. Johansen brings a wealth of experience in comprehensive patient care, with a strong background in primary care, pediatrics, women’s health, sports medicine, and complex medical care. 

Dr. Johansen earned his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California and completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. With extensive experience in outpatient procedures, lifestyle medicine, and dermatological care, Dr. Johansen is committed to providing personalized and compassionate healthcare to patients of all ages.

Dr Johansen is very thoughtful, exceedingly knowledgeable in his profession, and has remarkably keen analytical talent. He asks exceptionally insightful questions, listens very attentively, explains his diagnoses in terms a patient can understand, and deftly forms a coherent plan for treatment or further analysis. He is, in every regard, a superb physician.
