Hi, my name is Ahrin Koppel. I’m the medical director of the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center. Here at the Cancer Center, we’re proud to provide exceptional cancer care right here in the heart of our own community. We have one simple mission: to deliver compassionate, expert care close to home. Our team offers personalized plans using advanced technologies and evidence-based medicine. Our services include medical oncology, radiation oncology, and supportive care, all under one roof.
As an affiliate of the UC Davis Cancer Care Network, through clinical trials, we’re able to bring some of the most advanced technologies and treatments right into our rural community. We believe in treating the whole patient, not just the disease. So, we offer services like nutrition counseling, psychology services, and even acupuncture and massage. Our nurse navigation team is also here to help guide patients through transitional times.
For example, when a patient is first diagnosed with cancer, it can be very challenging and uprooting. And it’s a difficult time. But we’re here. We’re here to make it easier and help make sense of it all. What truly sets us apart is the genuine relationships we’re able to build with our patients, creating an experience rooted in trust, compassion, and quality care. We’re here every step of the way for our patients and their families.
