Hi, my name is Bibi Milicevic, and I’m the community pharmacy director at Tahoe Forest Health System. We’re excited to offer two new free programs, going through Met Project, to keep our community safe and healthy.
First, we now have a medication takeback kiosk at the community pharmacy. Now, you can dispose of your unused and expired medications at no cost.
The secure kiosk accepts all prescription medication, including Schedule 2 through 5 controlled medications. Please note that some items are not accepted, including herbal remedies, vitamins, supplements, cosmetics, personal care products, medical devices, batteries, mercury, thermometers, sharps, illegal drugs, pet pesticides, animal medicines, and biologics like insulin.
If you are using injectable medications, we’re offering a free sharps mailback program. This program provides you with a mailback package to safely dispose of items like lancets, needles, syringes, and injectable device products.
Just place your used sharps into the container provided, seal it when full, and mail it back using the prepaid postage included. It’s simple, safe, and helps reduce the risk of needlestick injuries.
