Tahoe Forest Health System is proud to announce that the Joseph Family Center for Women and Newborn Care has been awarded Superior Performance Recognition on the 2025 California Maternity Care Honor Roll, presented by the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC).

This prestigious recognition highlights the exceptional expertise, and teamwork of the physicians, nurses, clinicians, and support staff who provide maternity care services at Tahoe Forest Health System. Of the 198 participating hospitals evaluated statewide, only 82 hospitals earned placement on the 2025 Honor Roll, and just 54 achieved the distinguished Superior Performance tier.

“This recognition reflects the commitment and skill of our entire team to providing the highest quality, safest, and evidence-based care for families in our community,” said Anna Roth, President & CEO of Tahoe Forest Health System. “We are honored to be recognized among California’s top-performing hospitals for maternity care.”

Hospitals receiving Superior Performance recognition met or exceeded rigorous standards across five key maternal health quality measures:

  1. Nulliparous term singleton vertex (NTSV) C-section rates
  2. Surgical site infection prevention after a C-section
  3. Successful vaginal birth after a C-section (VBAC) rates
  4. Episiotomy rates
  5. Elimination of early elective deliveries prior to 39 weeks gestational age

This acknowledgment from the CMQCC Maternal Data Center underscores Tahoe Forest Health System’s commitment to advancing maternal health outcomes and ensuring families receive compassionate, high-quality care close to home.

The Joseph Family Center for Women and Newborn Care continues to serve the Truckee-Tahoe region with personalized maternity services designed to support families through every stage of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.
