Tahoe Forest Health System to Open New Sierra Center in Truckee

Tahoe Forest Health System is pleased to announce the opening of the new Tahoe Forest Sierra Center on October 26, 2026. Located at 11230 Donner Pass Road in Truckee, in the Gateway Center adjacent to Safeway, the new facility will bring several growing health and wellness services together under one roof, expanding access and creating more convenient options for the community.

Beginning October 26, the following services will relocate to the Sierra Center:

• Cardiac Rehabilitation
• Wellness
• Pharmacy
• Tahoe WoRx Occupational Health
• Lab Services
• Urgent Care

The Sierra Center, located in the former Rite Aid space, has undergone a significant transformation to create a modern, accessible home for these services. The new space represents a long-term investment in healthcare capacity, providing room for about 18,000 additional patient visits each year, a 12 percent increase in community access.

The new center will be celebrated with a ribbon-cutting event on Friday, October 23, from 9 AM-11 AM. The event will include a guest reception, remarks from healthcare and community leaders, a ribbon-cutting, clinic tours, and a celebration of the new space with invited guests and partners.

“Opening the Sierra Center is an exciting step forward for Tahoe Forest Health System and the community we serve,” said Anna Roth, President and CEO of Tahoe Forest Health System. “By bringing these services together in a larger, more accessible location, we are creating additional capacity and making it easier for patients and community members to access the care, wellness programs and services they need close to home.”

The new location will provide room for several departments to grow as demand for services continues to increase. Services at the Sierra Center are expected to improve patient access while alleviating pressure on existing facilities and creating a more convenient experience for patients.

Pharmacy Transition

The Tahoe Forest Pharmacy will be closed on Sunday, October 25, as the pharmacy team moves to the new Sierra Center location. The pharmacy will reopen at the Sierra Center on Monday, October 26.

Patients are encouraged to plan ahead for any prescription needs prior to the temporary closure.
