Important News for Medi-Cal Plan Holders
In 2024, Medi-Cal health plans must meet new requirements for quality, access, accountability, and transparency in order to improve them statewide.
If you have Medi-Cal and live in one of these counties – Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sierra, Sutter, Tehama, and Yuba – your healthcare plan will change January 1, 2024.
On January 1, 2024, you will be automatically enrolled in Partnership HealthPlan of California or Kaiser (Kaiser may be an option in Placer, Sutter, and Yuba counties). Your benefits, which include primary and specialty care, as well as hospital services, will be managed by Partnership. Your Medi-Cal eligibility, benefits, and programs like cash assistance (CalWorks), CalFresh, or SSI will not be impacted by this change.
By December 1, 2023, you will receive a letter from Medi-Cal Health Care Options telling you more about your Medi-Cal changes. You will receive a new member packet from your new plan the first week of January 2024.
