Tahoe Forest Health System Welcomes Four New Primary Care Providers

Tahoe Forest Health System is pleased to announce the addition of four providers to its Primary Care team in Truckee. Sara Holmes, MD; Connor Lemos, MD; Amber Forster, FNP; and Anna Petersen, FNP bring diverse clinical backgrounds and experience to the Truckee community, helping expand access to comprehensive, personalized care.

The addition of these providers strengthens Tahoe Forest Health System’s commitment to providing accessible, high-quality care close to home. All four providers are welcoming new patients.

Sara Holmes, MD, brings a background in family medicine, clinical research, and patient care. Her experience includes providing comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages through her Family Medicine Residency at Brown University. She has also conducted research at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Harvard Medical School and has contributed to medical publications and research presentations. Dr. Holmes earned her medical degree from University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School and a Bachelor of Science from Tufts University.

Connor Lemos, MD, brings experience in internal medicine, clinical care, medical education, and research. He completed his medical education at Eastern Virginia Medical School and has trained in hospital and clinic settings through the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. Dr. Lemos also has professional experience in Northern California and earned his undergraduate degree in Cognitive Science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Amber Forster, FNP, brings more than 15 years of nursing and patient-care experience, with expertise spanning family medicine, reproductive health, urgent care, cardiothoracic surgery, and labor and delivery. She previously served as a Family Health Nurse Practitioner with the Nevada County Public Health Department in Truckee, providing reproductive, preventive, and adult health care. Forster also has extensive experience in critical care and cardiothoracic surgery from her time at UCSF Medical Center. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Concordia University of Wisconsin.

Anna Petersen, FNP, brings experience in family medicine, rural health, addiction medicine, and critical care. She most recently served as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Barton Community Health Center in South Lake Tahoe, providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages. Her previous experience includes caring for critically ill patients as a registered nurse in intensive care and cardiac intensive care settings. Petersen earned her Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Together, Sara Holmes, MD; Connor Lemos, MD; Amber Forster, FNP; and Anna Petersen, FNP, add breadth to Tahoe Forest Health System’s Primary Care team, offering patients additional opportunities to establish care with a primary care provider in Truckee.
