SELS Students Bring Better World Day to Tahoe Forest Health System

Forth and Fifth Graders from Sierra Expeditionary Learning School

Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation has the fortunate role of connecting community generosity with our patients, caregivers and physicians. Sometimes this generosity is in the form of a donation. Other times, it’s in the form of a child with a big smile and a flower.

Sierra Expeditionary Learning School (SELS) celebrated Better World Day on Friday, May 4, by spreading kindness to various locations throughout Truckee, including Tahoe Forest Health System. Fourth and fifth graders walked through the Tahoe Forest Hospital Long Term Care Center and the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center delivering bright flowers, homemade treats and handmade cards expressing thanks to staff, care providers and physicians, and offering get well cards to patients.

Sierra Expeditionary Learning School joined more than 50,000 EL Education students and teachers for Better World Day, a time to honor the power of students across the country to shape a more just future through their learning
