Greetings from Tahoe Forest Health System!
Dear Community,
Summer has arrived in the mountains, bringing longer days, community gatherings, and opportunities to connect with friends, neighbors, and visitors from across the region. It is one of my favorite times of year in Truckee and North Lake Tahoe, and a reminder of what makes this community so special. As our region welcomes seasonal visitors and families enjoy everything summer has to offer, we are reminded of the important role healthcare plays in supporting a healthy and vibrant community.
Last month, our Board of Directors approved our True North Strategy, which will guide our work in the years ahead. The strategy focuses on three priorities: Health Within Reach, Community Guided, and Transformation.
These priorities reflect our commitment to improving access to care, listening to the needs of our communities, and continually evolving to meet the changing healthcare needs of our region. Whether expanding services, strengthening partnerships, or improving the patient experience, our focus remains on helping our community live healthier lives.
June is also Pride Month, a time to celebrate the diversity that strengthens our communities. We are committed to ensuring every patient, employee, and community member feels respected, welcomed, and supported.
As we look ahead, I am excited to celebrate Independence Day with many of you at the Truckee 4th of July Parade. Tahoe Forest Health System is proud to serve as the parade’s premier sponsor and support a tradition that brings our community together year after year. If you attend the parade, be sure to look for our team and say hello.
Thank you for the trust you place in Tahoe Forest Health System and for allowing us to be part of your lives and this community. It is a privilege to serve this region, and we look forward to continuing our work together to build a healthier future for all.
Warmly,
Anna M. Roth, RN, MS, MPH

Vaccination Guidance: Trusted Resources for Every Stage of Life
Tahoe Forest Health System has launched a comprehensive Vaccination Guidance hub designed to help individuals and families make informed decisions about immunizations. The resource brings together evidence-based recommendations from trusted organizations, including the California Department of Public Health, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
The webpage features guidance for children, adults, and pregnant individuals, along with information on vaccine safety, common questions and misconceptions, recommended immunization schedules, and local vaccination options throughout the Truckee–North Tahoe region. Visitors can also access educational articles, videos, and trusted resources to stay up to date on current vaccine recommendations.
Whether you’re checking your family’s immunization status, learning about vaccine safety, or looking for convenient local vaccination locations, this resource offers reliable information all in one place.
Visit the Vaccination Guidance page to learn more and access trusted vaccine resources for your family.

Kind Words
“Kevin and Dr Congress took great care of my toddler. Melissa did so well talking to my daughter so she wasn’t scared. She did so good getting her stitches and staying still. Thank you Dr Congress and Melissa. She wants to go back to the ER now to see you. She also slept with the blown-up glove and wombat.”

Keep Your Athlete Game-Ready: Schedule a Well Child Check
Don’t let an expired physical form bench your athlete! Schedule your Well Child Check (WCC) early to stay in the game. Student-athletes must have a current sports physical or Well Child Check (WCC) that remains valid for the entire sports season to participate. If the physical or WCC expires before the season ends, your child may not be allowed to practice or compete.
A Well Child Check includes:
- Complete review of vital signs and measurements
- Full health history evaluation
- Mental health discussions
- Sexual and reproductive health education
- Teen vaccine review and recommendations
- Overall wellness assessment by a pediatrician or primary care provider
We strongly encourage families to schedule a full-spectrum annual wellness visit to support their child’s health both on and off the field.
Available clinic dates:
- July 11
- July 25
Contact: Call (530) 582-6205 to book an appointment.
