Squaw Valley Mountain Run

For the past 38 years, hundreds of runners, hikers, and families have made the annual pilgrimage to the top of Squaw Valley to enjoy a great workout with stunning views of Lake Tahoe and the High Sierras. Starting at the base of Squaw Valley (6200’). The course climbs the 3.6-mile Mountain Run to High Camp (8200’). At the top, the finishers each receive a glass and enjoy awards, raffles, music, refreshments, and beer from Fifty Fifty Brewing Company in Truckee. This amazing event supports the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center and the scholarship fund for athletes at the Auburn Ski Club.

Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC), 15th Annual Skate the Lake 2019

Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) is preparing for the 15th Annual Skate the Lake, a 28-mile longboarding marathon that promotes an active lifestyle while raising funds for Boarding For Breast Cancer’s prevention and survivorship programs! Join them to longboard, bike, blade, or roller-skate on August 17th! If you’re not able to join them for the skate, be sure to attend a community gathering kick-off party at Commons Beach on Friday, August 16th. A portion of the proceeds will support the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center.
