Infant & Child CPR

Be prepared for life threatening emergencies. This CPR class is appropriate for caregivers of infants and children. Grandparents, siblings, nannies, babysitters, and anyone else wanting to learn how to help save a life!

When: October 4, 6-8pm

Authentic Wellness

2019 is the year to explore the power of you! In this FREE series of workshops you will learn a variety of topics from experts in their fields. Whether its stress, insomnia, nutrition, lack of energy, felling overwhelmed, or general habit change, we have you covered!

Sessions take place every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, 5:15 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. October topics include:

Infant Nutrition: When and How to Introduce Solid Foods to Your Baby

Learn how to introduce solids to your baby in a way that allows him/her to be a part of family meals and intuitively choose what and how much to eat, using a Baby-Led style. Skip pureed "baby foods" and go straight to finger foods with the understanding that babies can feed themselves right from the start. Appropriate for parents of babies 3-8 months old and caregivers of infants. Babies are welcome!

When: Tuesday October 22, 10:30am-12:30pm

Parkinson's Disease Support Group

A community support group in where members can share their experiences, knowledge, and coping strategies. Please come share input about what you want from this group. We can have speakers, watch and discuss webinars, and include outside activities to increase the cohesion and bonding among members. This free support group is held at the Tahoe Forest Center for Health and is facilitated by:
Ellen and John Roumasset, Trained Parkinson's Disease Associated Support Group Facilitators.

When: Every third Friday of the month, 1-2pm

Coming Early November:

Yoga Basics

2 hour workshop for students who are interested in learning more about yoga! You will learn:

  • Basic Yoga poses and how to execute them safely and comfortably for their body.
  • Attend group exercise yoga classes with a new familiarity for the names and poses frequently used.
  • Yoga in a safe, non-competitive environment with other beginners.

When: Saturday, November 2 11am-1pm
Cost: $25; Registration required.

Prenatal Refresher

A fun-filled class for you, your partner, and your young child. Class includes updated information on labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborns as well as a visit to the NEW (since 2017) OB department waiting room with your child. Review breathing patterns and get resource information for parenting with a growing family.

When: Sunday November 3, 10am-12pm
Cost: $30 per family; Pre-Registration Required.

Baby Massage

For parents and infants newborn to crawling, this hands-on workshop promotes bonding and communication, while improving baby’s circulation and digestion, easing tension, increasing relaxation, and reducing fussiness. Led by Linda Mackenzie, RN, Certified Infant Massage Instructor.

When: Wednesdays, November 6 - 27 | 1-2:30pm
