Is there something you know you should do but have been putting off? Things on your to-do list that aren’t getting done?
Try a making a “why-do” list! Asking yourself “why haven’t I done this yet?” or “why can’t I do this” is a sure-fire way to list your excuses for not doing something.
To help to move you forward, ask yourself, “why might I do this?” For example, “Why might I sign up for an exercise class?” is more likely to elicit a positive response compared to “why haven’t I signed up for an exercise class yet?” The first question elicits motivation, the second, barriers!
